Arsenal and Manchester United will reportedly compete with Manchester City in the race to sign 23-year-old English international Valentino Livramento from Newcastle United.
According to a report by Caught Offside, Valentino Livramento is the subject of interest from Manchester City. The Citizens are scouring the market for a right-back and have set their sights on the Newcastle United wide player. However, they will face stiff competition from Arsenal and Manchester City in the race to sign the English international.
Valentino Livramento and his career so far
Valentino Livramento has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the Premier League since joining Newcastle United from Southampton in August 2023. The 23-year-old has made significant progress in the last two years, and he has usurped Kieran Trippier to become the Tyneside club’s first-choice right-back.
The English international has made nearly 100 appearances thus far for Newcastle United while chipping in with one goal and three assists. Meanwhile, Livramento’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs. Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature next year.
A man in demand
It is unclear why the Englishman has emerged as a target for Arsenal. While Mikel Arteta has no recognised right-backs in his squad, Ben White and Jurrien Timber have excelled in the position. So, it is unclear how Livramento fits into the scheme of things at the North London club. Nevertheless, the young wide player is on Arsenal’s wishlist.
Meanwhile, Valentino Livramento has been on Manchester City’s radar for a long time. The continued interest is understandable, as Rico Lewis is the only recognised right-back in Pep Guardiola’s squad. However, with Lewis yet to establish himself as a first-choice right-back for Manchester City, they have set their sights on Livramento.
As for Manchester United, while Amad Diallo has been exceptional in the right wing-back berth, Diogo Dalot has been inconsistent. So, with the Red Devils aspiring to play European football next season, they must have two top-notch options for every position, making Livramento a viable target.
However, convincing Newcastle United to part ways with the 23-year-old Englishman will be a tall order. The Magpies want to tie Livramento to a new contract, and they will not entertain bids to part ways with the young full-back.
