Oliver Glasner and several Crystal Palace players have been linked with moves to Liverpool.
Amid Arne Slot’s dire run in the dugout, fans have called for Glasner to be appointed.
The Austrian is thriving with the Eagles, who are currently fifth in the Premier League, and it has been suggested this week that their manager may expect a phone call from Liverpool soon.

Should he end up at Anfield, Glasner could well continue working under a couple of his current Palace players.

What Oliver Glasner thinks about Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak
Marc Guehi has been linked with a move to Liverpool for some time now.
A January transfer for Guehi has been mooted despite the centre-back being set to become a free agent next year.
Meanwhile, after reports over the summer, it once again emerged this month that Liverpool have an interest in Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Fans responded to the Mateta transfer links earlier this year, claiming they wouldn’t mind signing him as a back-up option.
Since then, the Alexander Isak deal has been completed, leaving the Reds with two senior centre-forwards competing for one position.
Glasner has previously shared his verdict on Isak and Hugo Ekitike, explaining how they are similar to Mateta.
Speaking before Palace’s meeting with Liverpool in September 2025, as per football.london, he said: “They have a similar profile, huge pace, great runners, great feeling when to run into the space, and goal scorers, and post-court against Southampton.
“And Alexander Isak showed it in the last year, especially the last year against Newcastle. So, just a good striker, he knows where to move, and a great finisher, and what JP [Jean-Philippe Mateta] is doing well as well.”
As a result, given that Glasner already thinks the Liverpool duo can operate in a similar role to Mateta, there would be no need for him to try and lure the Frenchman to Anfield if he did end up replacing Slot.

Jean-Philippe Mateta record vs Liverpool strikers
So far this season, Mateta has six goals in 12 Premier League matches and eight across all competitions, and has previously been called ‘perfect’ and ‘superb’ by Alan Shearer during an FA Cup meeting covered by the BBC last season.
Isak has been hampered by Liverpool’s system under Slot and injury issues, scoring just one in 10.
But given Glasner seems to be a fan of the Swede, he could be the man to unlock the Reds’ record signing.
As for Ekitike, he has six goals in all competitions this term, and is now competing with Mateta for a place in France’s starting eleven.
