Sky has quietly added a new deal to its Black Friday 2025 sale that includes a £1 add-on ideal for sports fans. The provider is now offering its Essential TV, Sky Sports and UHD package for £36 per month.
Usually, the standard Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle comes in at £35, but now customers can also bag the Ultra HD add-on for an extra £1. This saves £120 compared to the usual £41 per month rate and provides more than 100 TV channels and full Sky Sports coverage of the Premier League, EFL, Formula 1, World Darts Championship and more.
With the UHD add-on, customers can watch select channels in four times higher picture quality than Full HD, with the deal also including free subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+. There’s also the option for further add-ons such as Sky Cinema (£10) and TNT Sports (£25).
However, Sky has confirmed its Black Friday sale is coming to an end on December 4. One thing to consider when taking advantage of the deal is that Sky’s TV contracts run for 24-months, with this deal powered by Sky Stream.
This is Sky’s new way to watch TV that works over WiFi rather than a satellite dish or aerial. It’s also worth remembering that Sky usually increases its prices each year in an inflation-linked change, with next year’s increase yet to be confirmed.

Elsewhere, Virgin Media’s Black Friday sale offers a rival sports deal with the £56.99 Sport bundle that’s now free for three months. As well as more than 200 TV channels and Sky Sports access, this also comes with 362Mbps fibre broadband and a free Netflix subscription.
EE is getting in on the action too with its £28.99 Sport bundle, which includes all TNT Sports channels offering Champions League and Europa League coverage, plus select Premier League games, boxing and rugby, alongside 100Mbps fibre broadband. However, after a six-month discount, the price will rise to a pricey £55.99.
But Sky has won over sports fans and earned some positive reviews on Trustpilot, as one said: “Sky Sports is really good and really reliable, its football reviews and news are so good.”

Another said: “Wonderful presentation, commentary and punditry. Sport is dynamic and Sky Sports embraces changes in its package to reflect what’s happening. The sporting fixtures shown include a high proportion of the great contests.”
This Sky Sports customer is less-impressed, saying: “Not bad but also not that great. They are average really in terms of variety and quality of presenters.”
While this cricket fan said: “Mel Jones is absolutely brilliant. The most informative and accessible commentator on Sky cricket coverage, and that’s saying something because they are all good.”
