Everton 1 Newcastle 4 the scoreboard read at the final whistle.
No more than Eddie Howe and his players deserved.
So much to love about this performance.
That final scoreline of Everton 1 Newcastle 4 absolutely summing up United’s dominance, especially when it came to creating scoring opportunities.
The fastest Premier League goal of the season and Newcastle United never looked back from there, only 52 seconds on the clock when Malick Thiaw headed home.
Nick Woltemade had released Elanga with an excellent pass, the winger’s pace getting him behind the defence and Pickford with a full length save tipping it around the post.
Lewis Miley swung in an excellent corner at pace and Thiaw glanced it past the floundering Jordan Pickford.
Everton huffed and puffed but Aaron Ramsdale without a save to make in the first half.
When Newcastle United attacked they did it with purpose and numbers and regularly cut Everton apart.
With 25 minute on the clock, a bit of pinball in the box and then it fell for Miley, his left foot effort through Pickford’s legs and the (scouse) mackem looked to blame Tarkowski for getting in his line of sight!
As the clock ticked towards the break, Everton falling apart again under United pressure, Elanga feeding Woltemade and Big Nick with the sweetest of chips over poor Jordan Pickford.
The superb Lewis Hall had also hit the bar earlier in that first half and as the whistle sounded, David Moyes and his team stumbled off the pitch in shock.
Thirteen minutes after the break and Lewis Hall with a deserved assist, his perfect cross met by Malick Thiaw for his second!
Dewsbury–Hall scored a very good goal with twenty minutes to go but it was no consolation for the rapidly emptying home sections.
Newcastle United saw the win out in total comfort and I have to say, I think a great idea for Everton to move from the slum that was Goodison Park to this very nice Hill Dickinson Stadium. Easily my favourite ever Everton stadium…
