'Feels like home': Nick Woltemade is loving life at Newcastle United following his latest goal

· 29 November 2025, 21:00

Nick Woltemade got himself on the scoresheet once again for Newcastle United as they put four past Jordan Pickford in the Everton goal.

It was Newcastle's first away win of the season in the Premier League and only Everton's second defeat at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

There were a few contenders in the green of Newcastle for the Player of the Match today, and amongst them was definitely Nick Woltemade, whose sublime dink over Pickford on the stroke of half-time was the pick of the goals.

The German striker has taken to life in the Premier League like a duck to water despite the fact that Newcastle as a team haven't quite fully adapted to his style of play.

Newcastle's German imports have been outstanding

Nick Woltemade says he was lucky with his goal today

Woltemade is starting to feel at home at the Toon too, as he told Sky Sports after the game on Saturday.

"It was a good counter, Anthony played a good ball to me, I was a bit lucky it went in, but it was a good goal.

"It has been a really easy transition, it is good to have Malick [Thiaw] here, but all the other guys are great and if you see the fans, it feels like home already and it is a nice feeling for us."

Nick Woltemade is possibly too humble

One thing we've noticed about Big Nick is that he is incredibly humble and honest. It was a superb finish by the striker today, and he's there saying he got lucky.

We don't mind you getting a bit big-headed every now and then, Nick, just don't get all Alexander Isak about it.

The win today sees Newcastle up to 11th in the table now, just four points off the Mackems in fourth, who came from behind to bag another win today. What is going on? Big Nick had better sort them out at the Stadium of Light in a fortnight's time!
