Serhou Guirassy has the attention of at least five top teams ahead of next summer, with a fixed release clause that makes a move possible.
According to Fichajes, Serhou Guirassy is the subject of a five-way battle ahead of next summer for his signature. The Borussia Dortmund star reportedly has a fixed release clause in his contract that allows the German club little room to maneuver should one of the stipulated teams trigger the exit clause.
Serhou Guirassy has continued to perform at the highest level with Borussia Dortmund since signing for them last season and has kept scoring goals with regularity. The Guinean striker scored 34 times in the Bundesliga and Champions League combined last season and already has 9 goals across all competitions this term.
Guirassy has a release clause for specific clubs only that includes the likes of four English giants, among others. Arsenal are among those keen, and mentioned as part of a five-way battle for the signature of the Guinean star, with the release clause thought to be around €50 million.
The Gunners are in a healthy situation with regards to strikers, but they could enter the market for a new marksman if one of their current options departs next summer. Chelsea are also mentioned as a potential suitor, but the idea of Guirassy for them will mean going out of their policy and signing a player much older than their preference.
The prospect of some of their current forwards like Joao Pedro and Liam Delap underperforming could force Chelsea’s hand into signing a much more experienced star, with Guirassy certainly one of the prolific ones around. Whether those two English sides trigger his release clause remains to be seen, while Manchester City are also part of a five-way battle for the €50 million-rated Bundesliga striker.
Serhou Guirassy to leave Borussia Dortmund?
If the interest from the Premier league giants wasn’t enough, Guirassy also has the attention of La Liga pair Real Madrid and Barcelona. Both those teams, especially the Catalans, are likely to enter the market for a new striker, and the price point with the €50 million-rated Bundesliga striker could tempt Barcelona into bringing Guirassy as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
Real Madrid are not flush with options in the No.9 role, as they may not want to rely on the formidable Kylian Mbappe for large parts. Hence, the idea of Guirassy could tempt them into making a move, although they could be the least favourites for the signature of the €50 million-rated Bundesliga striker. As for the Guinean, he would be open to a big career switch to a bigger side, which might make the current campaign his last with Borussia Dortmund.
