Rockets Reveal Big Kevin Durant News Before Jazz Matchup

Kevin Durant hasn't been in the Houston Rockets' lineup lately.

The veteran superstar has been ruled out for the past two games due to personal reasons. The Rockets haven't offered any further details behind Durant's absence, but he isn't expected to miss more time moving forward.

According to the Rockets' Saturday night injury report, Durant has been left off, which signals he is available to play in their Sunday afternoon game against the Utah Jazz.

Despite playing without Durant lately, the Rockets haven't missed a step. When Houston visited Durant's old stomping grounds to play the Phoenix Suns, the Rockets collected a 114-92 victory.

In the following game, the Rockets paid a visit to the Golden State Warriors. Once again, they collected a victory, winning 104-100.

Prior to his recent two-game absence, Durant had played in every game for the Rockets. In his first 14 outings for Houston, the veteran forward has averaged a little over 35 minutes of action.

The former MVP has been making shots at a 48 percent clip, and knocking down 36 percent of his threes, while taking 4.7 attempts per game. Durant is posting averages of 24.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists. On defense, he's averaging 1.0 steals and nearly 1.0 blocks per game.

Once again, the Rockets are looking like one of the strongest contenders in the Western Conference. With a 12-4 record , they are tied with the Los Angeles Lakers, who sit in second place. Both teams are trailing the Oklahoma City Thunder, who are off to a strong 19-1 start to the year.

On Sunday, Durant and the Rockets are set to take on the 6-12 Jazz. Utah has won just three of its last 10 games. At home, they carry a 5-5 record.

The two teams are set to tip off at 3 PM ET on Sunday.
