The Los Angeles Lakers have added LeBron James to the injury report.
According to the official NBA injury report, LeBron is managing a left foot injury. As a result, he is questionable for the Lakers' Sunday night matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Along with LeBron James, the Lakers have also listed Marcus Smart as doubtful due to back spasms, and Bronny James is out, as he's been assigned to the NBA G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers.
LeBron has already had a rough start to the year, missing a large chunk of the Lakers' opening month. On October 21, the Lakers faced the Golden State Warriors for their opener, which didn't include LeBron for the first time since they acquired him years ago.
James ended up missing the first 14 games of the Lakers' season. When he was initially ruled out during the preseason, the Lakers anticipated at least a four-week absence from their superstar forward.
When the Lakers reached the November 18 matchup against the Utah Jazz, James was cleared to make his 2025-2026 season debut. He checked in for 29 minutes and shot 4-7 from the field to score 11 points. He also dished out 12 assists against the Utah Jazz in the 140-126 win.
Since then, LeBron has appeared in the Lakers' last three games, including Friday's outing against the Dallas Mavericks at home. In his latest showing, LeBron checked in for 34 minutes. He went 5-13 from the field to score 13 points. In addition to his scoring, James produced seven assists and came down with five rebounds. The Lakers picked up their sixth-straight win by beating the Mavs 129-119.
The Lakers will be looking to improve to 15-4 against the struggling Pelicans on Sunday. For the time being, the Lakers aren't sure about James' status for the matchup.
