Kevin Porter Jr. is back. The Milwaukee Bucks guard returned to action on Saturday nightagainst the Brooklyn Netsat Fiserv Forum after dealing with an ankle injury that forced him to miss 19 straight games.
The former USC Trojans star was inserted into the starting lineup right away and immediately made an impact on the Nets game, which the Bucks ultimately won via blowout, 116-99. In fact, he was the one who scored the first points for Milwaukee, draining a shot from behind the arc over the outstretched arm of Brooklyn big man Nic Claxton.
After seeing his shot find its target, Porter was seen flashing a huge smile as he backpedalled on his way to the other side of the floor.

It surely must have felt good for Porter, who put pen to paper for a two-year, $10.52 million contract with the Bucks in July. He played in Milwaukee’s 133-120 win over the Washington Wizards at home in a season-opener, scoring 109 points in nine minutes, but suffered an ankle injury that later required surgery.

Porter can also say that he is still undefeated in the 2025-26 NBA season, as Milwaukee has won both games he’s been active for them, thus far.
The Bucks snapped aseven-game losing skidby taking down Brooklyn, and in the process improved to 9-12 overall and 6-6 in home games.
Giannis Antetokounmpo paced Milwaukee with 29 points on 12-for-15 shooting from the floor, while AJ Green and Bobby Portis provided 15 and 13 points, respectively. As for Porter, he racked up 13 points on 4-for-10 shooting from the field to go along with six assists, four rebounds, a steal and a block in 25 minutes.
