Report: What Arne Slot is now thinking before West Ham as his future as Liverpool manager questioned

Liverpool will be looking to avoid a seventh defeat in eight Premier League matches when they clash with West Ham.

The 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest last Saturday was nothing short of woeful, and that fixture once again sparked debate around Arne Slot’s position.

Liverpool fans wanted Oliver Glasner as a replacement after the defeat, and another loss to PSV on Wednesday further amplified talk around the Dutchman moving on.

Arne Slot is preparing for a huge week at Liverpool.

Publicly, Slot appears calm about his future, commenting on his private chat with FSG and suggesting that nothing has changed.

He said: “Yeah, we’ve had the same conversations as we’ve had since I’m here. And, not sure if I said it last night, but we fight on, and we try to improve, that’s what we all try.

“But the conversations have been the same as they have been for the past one and a half years.”

However, the results can’t be argued with, and the Dutchman knows something will have to change soon.

Lewis Steele, writing in the Daily Mail, has shared an insight into how Slot is feeling ahead of West Ham.

He wrote: “Slot himself knows that this next week, with three league games, is the biggest of his career.”

After taking on the Hammers, Liverpool have a midweek clash against Sunderland before travelling to Leeds United next Saturday.

How likely are Liverpool to beat West Ham and Sunderland

Following a change of manager, West Ham have won two and drawn one of their last three league matches.

However, Opta’s supercomputer still makes Liverpool favourites for this weekend’s fixture, giving them a 49.8% chance of coming away with three points.

Sunderland, meanwhile, are winless in their last three, but they still began the current gameweek in seventh place with 19 points from 12.

Opta give Liverpool a 67.4% chance of winning on Wednesday when they host the North East outfit.
