Arsenal have the opportunity to bring in some new faces when the January transfer window opens for business

Arsenal are back in action on Sunday afternoon with an away trip to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea. They won 3-1 at home to Bayern Munich last time out in the Champions League. Jurrien Timber, Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli got their goals against the German giants at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners remain top of the Premier League table after 12 fixtures. They are hoping to finally get their hands on the trophy this season. Mikel Arteta’s men are four points clear ahead of Manchester City in 2nd.

Arsenal eye Juventus attacker Kenan Yildiz

According to La Repubblica, Arsenal are showing ‘interest’ in Juventus attacker Kenan Yildiz and have contacted his agent regarding a potential switch. They have the opportunity to bring in some new signings in the January transfer window. The London outfit also have the chance to lets some players head out the exit door this winter as well if needed to free up space and funds.

Yildiz, 20, is under contract in Turin until June 2029 meaning his current club are under no pressure to sell him anytime soon and can wait for the right offer to come in for his signature. He has made 21 appearances in all competitions so far this season and has scored eight goals, four of which have come in Serie A. In addition, he has chipped in with seven assists.

The Turkey international, who has 26 caps under his belt, started his career with spells as a youngster in Germany at Sallern Regensburg and Jahn Regensburg. Bayern Munich snapped him up in 2012 and he spent 10 years at the Allianz Arena. Juventus then came calling for his services in 2022 and he has since broken into their first-team.

Would Juventus star Kenan Yildiz suit Arsenal?

Arsenal could see Yildiz as someone to bolster their attacking department. If he joined, he would give them more competition and depth at the top end of the pitch. In addition, he would give them something different to what they already have at their disposal in his position.

He is still young and has bags of potential to get better in the future. Landing him would be a shrewd long-term decision by the Gunners and a sign that they are planning for down the line with their recruitment. They have made some eye-catching additions over recent years that has helped them compete consistently at the top end of the division.

Former Juventus boss Igor Tudor had this to say about Yildiz earlier this year: “I was talking to them (the players) the other day and I noticed that I never say anything to Yildiz in front of others, because he always does what he’s supposed to do. We rarely say anything to him, whether it’s about his playing style of behaviour. The different is that inner motivation you have to get there and do what you do, which has to be there every day. Yildiz is proving that he does that, and I hope he continues every day. He has all the attributes to become a truly top player.”
