Hansi Flick feeling ‘worn out and helpless’ after tough week at Barcelona – report

While FC Barcelona secured a 3-1 victory over Deportivo Alaves on Saturday evening, manager Hansi Flick was not entirely happy with some aspects of the team’s performance.

In fact, an image of Flick sitting on the bench at the Spotify Camp Nou, looking frustrated and dejected, has been doing the rounds, following which he and Raphinha exchanged some words.

Flick ‘worn out’

Now, journalist Helena Condis of COPE reports that Flick has endured a tough week at Barcelona, following the team’s defeat to Chelsea last Tuesday.

The Blaugrana were completely outplayed by the Blues at Stamford Bridge, with the game ending in a 3-0 defeat.

And while Barça were able to bounce back with a 3-1 win vs Alaves last evening, it was not at all comfortable as the visitors pushed Barça from start to end at the Spotify Camp Nou.

Given how things are going, Flick is understood to be feeling ‘worn out and helpless’ by the situation.

With the team being unable to perform the way it did last season, the Barcelona head coach has a lot on his plate at this moment, leaving him stressed.

“We’re all feeling down. The defeat against Chelsea was tough. We thought we could win,” Flick had remarked earlier this week before the game against Alaves, giving an insight into his mental state.

And after the game, when asked about what he felt was different with the team from last season to this one, he insisted:

“We don’t have the control and intensity we had last year. I don’t know if we have the same number of points now at matchday 14. We can improve in many other areas.”

It seems clear that Flick is not happy with the level his team is showing and he will hope to resolve the issue at the earliest.
