Daniel Farke has insisted that Leeds fully deserve to be playing in the Premier League following their latest defeat to Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.
It was a game where the side from Yorkshire showed plenty of fight, battling from 2-0 down at the Etihad to make it 2-2. However, an injury-time winner from Phil Foden condemned them to an 8th league defeat this campaign.
Whilst there was plenty of room for encouragement for Daniel Farke, his side are going to have to start picking up more points sooner or later if they want to remain in the Premier League for next season.
Talking to the BBC after the game, Farke said that he was pleased with the team's performance, but claimed that his team had plenty of belief prior to this match, insisting this win has not only just provided them with this.
"We had the belief before the game, during the game and after the game. Or else you can't come back with a performance like that. We have great unity and fighting spirit."
The German also gave a passionate defence as to why Leeds deserve to be part of the Premier League. He argued that some of the results that have not gone his side's way have been close contests.
"We didn't reach the Premier League in a lottery. We fully deserve to play in this league. Except Arsenal away we've had tight games and sometimes been the better side.
"One of the toughest places against one of best teams in the world. I'd have preferred points but I'm very happy with the performance.
"We do our speaking on the pitch. Actions speak louder than words. We've shown a really good performance. We played against one of the best team in Europe.
"We've shown wherever we go if we are concentrated and focused we have the quality to win points."
Leeds United, currently sitting in 18th, will now turn their attention to a midweek league clash as they host Chelsea at Elland Road in a bid to turn their fortunes around.
