There was only one player who stood out as Liverpool’s best performer in their 2-0 win away to West Ham, with struggling individuals also improving.
West Ham 0-2 Liverpool
Premier League (13) | London Stadium
November 30, 2025
Goals: Isak 60′, Gakpo 90+2′
Sent off: Paqueta 84′
Alisson – 6 (out of 10)
Alisson was so untroubled in the first half that his only moment of note was a collision with Joe Gomez that left him injured momentarily.
Similarly, Liverpool’s No. 1 was bordering on a spectator after the break, too, barring some routine pieces of handling.
Joe Gomez – 7
Brought in at right-back, Gomez did a good job, justifying his selection.
His distribution was mixed at times, with his crossing technique limited, but his defensive work was reliable throughout.
Assisted Cody Gakpo‘s match-clinching goal and his long throw also began the move for the opener.
Ibrahima Konate – 7
Konate was much improved here, making more defensive contributions than anyone (13).
He was wasteful early on, over-hitting two passes, but he produced a couple of important bits of defending to put out fires.
Maybe Real Madrid ending their interest has allowed him to focus more!
Virgil van Dijk – 7
This was more like it from Van Dijk, who eased through the game.
Admittedly, Liverpool’s skipper wasn’t tested a huge amount, but he was dominant aerially, making four headed clearances, and looked more focused than he has of late.
Angry at his teammates late on when West Ham threatened to equalised, showing his leadership.

Milos Kerkez – 7
Kerkez retained his place over Andy Robertson and, like Konate, there were clear improvements.
The Hungarian was less erratic in a defensive sense, as well as providing overlapping runs to create space for Cody Gakpo.
He can improve further, clearly, but a step in the right direction.
Ryan Gravenberch – 7
Gravenberch did well here, with his midfield drive returning to the side.
He was robbed of winning a dangerous free-kick after one surging run, and there was more authority about his performance.
Got sloppy for a spell early in the second half, but a positive all-round showing.
Alexis Mac Allister – 6
Mac Allister continues to be a tough watch, struggling for legs and not having the influence of last season.
That’s not to say that he was poor on Sunday, though, with the Argentine completing 88 per cent of his passes and growing into the game as it went on.
Good at winning free-kicks and generally killing time at 1-0.
Dominik Szoboszlai – 6
The ever-versatile Szoboszlai switched to the right wing in place of Mohamed Salah, and perhaps unsurprisingly, he didn’t have a huge impact.
He showed some nice touches, and worked his socks off, but there was only so much he could do in an auxiliary role.
You have to feel for Liverpool’s best player this season, who is having to consistently sacrifice his strongest position for the team.

Florian Wirtz – 8 (Man of the Match)
Wirtz was comfortably the best player on the pitch, being let down by those around him before the break.
His intelligence and awareness allowed him to create big chances for Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo, and he was involved in the former’s goal with a clever pass.
Missed one huge chance, but very encouraging signs.
Cody Gakpo – 7
What a strange player Gakpo is – so frustrating for large periods, but then gets a goal and an assist.
The Dutchman was guilty of sloppy touches and running down blind alleys, but he did create opportunities for Isak and Wirtz.
More is needed from him, but ultimately, he played a major role in Liverpool’s win.
Alexander Isak – 6
Isak may have again been well off the pace, but he opened the scoring with a superb finish – his first Premier League goal for Liverpool.
He ballooned one early shot into the crowd and was denied from point-blank range, and he only had 13 touches in the first hour.
Still, the goal will hopefully give him a huge amount of confidence.

Substitutes
Hugo Ekitike (on for Isak, 67′) – 6
Curled wide, didn’t do a huge amount else.
Curtis Jones (on for Wirtz, 75′) – 6
Kept things ticking over and added control to the midfield.
Andy Robertson (on for Kerkez, 85′) – 6
No time to make an impact, but did nothing wrong.
Subs not used: Mamardashvili, Endo, Nyoni, Salah, Ngumoha, Chiesa
Arne Slot – 8

The under-fire Slot can breathe a huge sigh of relief.
Slot knew how fatal defeat at the London Stadium could be, but he got a vital win, steadying the ship after some dire form.
His starting lineup was good, with credit deserved for using Wirtz in his best role and bringing Gomez into the team, while also making the brave decision to drop Salah.
West Ham were awful, though, so there is no need to go overboard about this victory, but the pressure on Slot has eased a little.
