Liverpool got back to winning ways on Sunday

Liverpool finally put an end to their poor run of form with a much-needed win against West Ham United at the London Stadium.

The Reds, who had lost nine out of their last 12 matches, were in dire need of a positive outcome. Despite having to work hard for it, Alexander Isak's second-half heroics delivered the goods.

The first half saw a marked improvement from Liverpool, even without Mohamed Salah on the pitch after he was benched. They came close to scoring several times but the score remained nil-nil at half-time.

West Ham ramped up the pressure in the second half, but it was Liverpool who broke the deadlock with Isak finding the back of the net from the centre of the box.

West Ham regained control towards the end of the match but found themselves a man down when Lucas Paqueta foolishly earned himself a second yellow card shortly after his first booking.

Liverpool then doubled their lead in extra time, with Cody Gakpo firing home from close range to secure the victory, reports the Express.
