Everton 1-4 Newcastle United: Joe Buck reaction
Newcastle United claimed an impressive win at Premier League rivals Everton on Saturday evening.
There was less than a minute on the clock when summer signing Malick Thiaw got off the mark as a Magpies when he headed home what has become the quickest goal in the Premier League this season. The lead was doubled by a goal from academy graduate Lewis Miley and two became three before half-time when Nick Woltemade made the most of persistent play from Anthony Elanga with a deft finish over former Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
Thiaw went on to double his tally in the second half as he met a stunning cross from the impressive Lewis Hall at the back post and directed a pinpoint header across Pickford and inside the far post. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall reduced the arrears for the Toffees with a fine first touch and finish prevented Aaron Ramsdale from racking up a clean sheet on his Magpies Premier League debut - but that could take little shine from what was a fantastic away day display from Eddie Howe’s men.
The win also took the Magpies into eleventh place in the Premier League table ahead of Sunday’s fixtures - but where are United predicted to finish when the season comes to an end next May? We take a look at the latest predicted final Premier League table based on statistics provided by the experts at Opta.
