Brandin Podziemski gives Kevon Looney his flowers after Looney’s first game back in the Bay as…

Brandin Podziemski and Kevon Looney only got to play together for two seasons in Golden State, but the third-year guard knows how impactful Looney was for the Warriors for almost a decade. The two also share the home state of Wisconsin, and Podziemski shared how important he is to the Milwaukee area.

“He’s the standard. He’s the motto that you want to follow…” Podziemski said about Looney in a postgame press conference after the Warriors beat the Pelicans 104-96 on Saturday. “Everybody that has aspirations to make it from Milwaukee knows Kevon Looney.”

Dubbed the King of Milwaukee, Looney is Bay Area royalty as well, having won three championships with the Warriors since being drafted to Golden State in 2015. Looney, only 29, now plays for the New Orleans Pelicans, and still has a bright NBA future ahead of him.

The Warriors and the Pelicans match up again on February 24th in New Orleans. Looney isn’t the only familiar face in New Orleans, as his Warriors teammate Jordan Poole also joined the Pelicans this past offseason. Looney might not be getting much playing time in New Orleans, but he is clearly a locker room presence who can help any team.
