Everton are set to travel to Bournemouth on Tuesday as they look to return to winning ways.

The Toffees were hammered 4-1 by Newcastle at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday.

It was an embarrassing defeat, especially after Everton had previously beaten Manchester United 1-0 earlier in the week.

However, David Moyes has the chance to make the result an anomaly on Tuesday when the Toffees take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth favourites to beat Everton

Going into the match, both sides had a poor weekend, with the Cherries losing 3-2 to Sunderland despite being 2-0 up.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

Despite Bournemouth also being on poor form coming into the tie, Opta on 30 November believes that the hosts will overcome the Toffees.

The supercomputer has estimated that the Cherries have a 50.5 per cent chance of returning to winning ways on Tuesday.

In comparison, Everton have just a 24.5 per cent chance of taking three points, while a draw is seen as a 25 per cent chance.

Therefore, Moyes may have to make a tactical change at Everton to ensure his side picks up a victory.

Everton’s head-to-head record with Bournemouth

Everton have an awful recent record against the Cherries.

In their last 10 meetings, the Toffees have only won twice, losing the other eight matches.

Even more worrying is the fact that Everton have never beaten Bournemouth at their ground in the league, with their only two victories at the ground coming in the League Cup and FA Cup.

Everton have a solid overall record against Bournemouth

Therefore, Moyes will have to make history if he wants to get a victory on Tuesday, something that doesn’t look too likely going into the match.

However, Everton have overcome the odds plenty of times under the Scotsman, and there is no reason why it can’t happen again.
