Arsenal and Chelsea are battling it out with Manchester City for top spot in the Premier League this season
Arsenal remain top of the Premier League table after 13 fixtures. They are hoping that they can finally get their hands on the trophy this season. Mikel Arteta’s side have fallen short in the title race over the past few years.
Chelsea drew 1-1 with the Gunners at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon. Trevoh Chalobah scored their goal, whilst Mikel Merino was on the scoresheet for the visitors. Midfielder Moises Caicedo was sent off for the hosts in the first half but they managed to get a result without him.
It came a day after Manchester City had moved closer to the top of the table with a 3-2 win over Leeds United.

Brentford will also be tricky customers and have caught the eye under Keith Andrews, whilst Everton and Brighton and Hove Albion can be hit and miss. Wolves are struggling and are yet to win as they stare down the barrel of a likely relegation to the Championship.
Chelsea’s next six Premier League fixtures
Chelsea have a youthful squad but will be satisfied with the start that they have made to this campaign. They dug deep against Arsenal with 10 men and gave their latest opponents some problems. Enzo Maresca’s men are right in the mix at the top end of the table and will fancy their chances of catching the Gunners over the festive period. Here is a look at their next six games...

AFC Bournemouth (A), Saturday 6th December, 15:00

Chelsea kick-start December with an away trip to Elland Road to play Leeds United. The Whites are in poor form and pressure it starting to mount on Daniel Farke. Maresca’s men have potentially difficult matches on their travels against AFC Bournemouth and Newcastle United. They then play the Cherries again at home in their final fixture of the month. The Blues will need to be at their best against Everton and Aston Villa on their own patch, especially against the latter who are aiming to get into the Champions League under Emery.
