Chelsea face an away trip to AFC Bournemouth this weekend after their clash against Leeds United
The Blues are back in action on Wednesday night with a clash against Leeds United at Elland Road. They then play AFC Bournemouth away on Saturday. The London outfit are positioned in 3rd place in the table after their first 13 fixtures and are six points off top spot.
AFC Bournemouth could be without Alex Jimenez and Tyler Adams against Chelsea
Bournemouth pair Alex Jimenez and Tyler Adams are walking a disciplinary tightrope at the moment. Both players are on four yellow cards so far in this campaign. They are one further yellow card away from a one-game suspension due to Premier League rules. T
The Cherries play Everton at home on Tuesday evening. Therefore, if Jimenez and Adams are booked against the Toffees they will be unavailable against Chelsea. Andoni Iraola’s side are sat in 11th position and lost 3-2 away at Sunderland last time out, despite going 2-0 up at the Stadium of Light.
Jimenez, 20, is on loan at Bournemouth from AC Milan. They signed him in the summer to add more competition and depth to their defensive department. He has since made eight appearances for the Dorset outfit to date.
The youngster was on the books at Real Madrid before his switch to the San Siro in 2023. He initially joined his parent club on a temporary basis before he secured a full time switch. The full-back has since played 34 matches for the Serie A giants but was given the green light to head out to England to get some more experience under his belt.
As for Adams, the USA international, who has 52 caps to his name, has been a key player for Bournemouth since joining them in 2023 from Leeds. He has made 50 outings for them so far and has found the net on two occasions. The midfielder has played for New York Red Bulls and RB Leipzig in the past.
Chelsea latest ahead of Leeds United and AFC Bournemouth clashes
Chelsea will have fancied their chances of getting a win against Arsenal before Caicedo was sent off. They played well against the Gunners and were causing them problems. Nevertheless, they won’t be too disappointed with the draw in the end after going down to 10 men and will be relieved that they weren’t beaten.
Their upcoming opponents Leeds have struggled for form recently and pressure is growing on their head coach Daniel Farke. Their hierarchy may have a decision to make if he can’t turn things around. The Whites were promoted from the Championship earlier this year after winning the title but have found the step up to the top flight difficult so far. They are inside the drop zone with Wolves and Burnley and lost 3-2 at Manchester City in their last game.
