Knicks achieve feat last accomplished in the Carmelo Anthony era

The New York Knicks entered Sunday evening's game against the Toronto Raptors looking for another home win. Having won nine of their last 10 games coming into the matchup, the Toronto Raptors provided a difficult matchup. Entering play, both the Knicks and Raptors sat in second and third place in the Eastern Conference standings, trailing only the Detroit Pistons.

Despite what seemed to be a close matchup on paper, the New York Knicks were in control throughout. They opened the game outscoring Toronto 41-22 and didn't look back from there. New York outscored Toronto in every quarter excluding the second and finished with a 22 point victory.

New York's scoring effort was balanced, as the team had six players in double figures including Karl-Anthony Towns who led all scorers with 22. With Landry Shamet and OG Annunoby sidelined, Josh Hart drew another start. In extended minutes he stuffed the stat sheet, posting 20 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and three steals. As a team, New York dominated Toronto on the boards, outrebounding them 61-40 for the game.

The Knicks have now opened the year with an incredible 10-1 record at home, their best home record to begin the year since the 2012-13 Knicks. That year, New York finished with a 54-28 record which ranked second in the Eastern Conference.

Currently second, the Knicks will look to continue their four game win-streak on Tuesday against the Boston Celtics.
