Life after the NBA has treated Kendrick Nunn kindly. The former Los Angeles Lakers guard has not touched a court in basketball's top league since 2022-23. However, his basketball journey is far from over and his play over in the EuroLeague is proving it.
Nunn started his playing days in the NBA in the Sunshine State. After going undrafted in the 2028 NBA Draft, the bucket-getter eventually found his way to the Miami Heat and carved out a spot for himself on their roster. It was there that Nunn quickly made a name for himself.
Nunn averaged 15.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 0.9 steals in 29.4 minutes per game with Miami, shooting 45.8 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from beyond the arc. The Lakers took notice of the offensive production and lured him away to Los Angeles.
Injuries played a role in making his time with the Lakers underwhelming. Nunn wound up averaging just 6.7 points and 3.0 assists during his career in Los Angeles, shooting only 40.6 percent from the field and 32.5 percent from deep before being a necessary inclusion in the [trade that acquired Rui Hachimura](https://lakeshowlife.com/lakers-chose-wrong-wizards-forward-ugly-choice-getting-worse-rui-hachimura-deni-avdija).
His time with the Washington Wizards brought his time in the NBA to an end. However, Nunn has proven to have plenty left in the tank overseas.
Kendrick Nunn is leading Panathinaikos' offense in the EuroLeague
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Panathinaikos is enjoying a 9-4 record in the EuroLeague thus far. A driving force of that success is the offensive production Nunn has offered the team in his 13 outings.
Nunn is averaging 18.5 points per game for Panathinaikos, leading the team in scoring by a fair margin. The next closest in the category is former NBA big man Kenneth Faried, who has posted 13.5 points per game in only four games.
The former Lakers guard is delivering that scoring punch with excellent efficiency. Nunn is shooting 59.6 percent from 2-point, a blistering 40.4 percent from 3-point land, and cashing 87.5 percent of his attempts at the free throw line.
While scoring has been the primary focus, his contributions as a passer have also been there. Nunn is second on the team in assists per game, averaging 3.8, trailing only Kostas Sloukas.
Given [how great of an addition](https://lakeshowlife.com/rui-hachimura-turning-impossible-lakers-decision-into-easy-one) Hachimura was, the Lakers and their fans have probably not thought back to the trade that included getting rid of the scoring guard too much. Seeing how quickly he fell out of the league after leaving Los Angeles was a good sign of Rob Pelinka and company making the right call too. Even so, Nunn has shown there is plenty of hooping remaining in his future.
