John Terry ‘delighted’ with Chelsea man for answering his biggest question before Arsenal clash

As the dust settles from Chelsea’s London derby with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, the Blues will walk away from the game the happier of the two sides.

The 1-1 clash between two of the top three in the Premier League was as intense as anyone could hope, although Chelsea suffered off the back of this following Moises Caicedo’s red card.

Chelsea believed Piero Hincapie should have been sent off too, however they were still arguably the better side on the day and could have won despite being down a man.

Who was your Man of the Match vs Arsenal?

The Blues had even taken the lead through Trevoh Chalobah’s header, with the Blues giving Arsenal a taste of their own medicine when it comes to set pieces.

John Terry praises Trevoh Chalobah after Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal

Talk before the game revolved around whether Chelsea were going to be able to stop their opponents from these situations, with John Terry naming it as one of the keys to the game.

However, he has now praised Chalobah on his TikTok for the goal, and answering his biggest question going into the match.

He said: “Very solid defensively, that can be tiring for the boys after going down to 10 men, especially after a big week against Barcelona and travelling away to Burnley.

“Super performance from the boys, delighted with Trevoh, scoring from the set play. We spoke about how important set plays were in the build up to this game, and thankfully we were the team to get the advantage from that.”

Chalobah becoming a secret weapon for Chelsea

The goal against the Gunners was Chalobah’s third of the season from set pieces, making him the club’s third top scorer.

Chalobah now has more goals than Gabriel managed in the Premier League last season, despite the Arsenal man being seen as a real goalscoring threat due to his ability from corners and free kicks.

There has been criticism fired Chalobah’s way this season, but he is slowly showing that he is arguably Chelsea’s most consistent centre-back without Levi Colwill.

Starts against Barcelona and Arsenal are showing that he has convinced Enzo Maresca to utilise him in big games, although rotation at the back is expected with games coming thick and fast.
