Liverpool ended their dismal run of form with a 2-0 win against struggling West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds had lost nine of their previous 12 matches but goals from Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo ensured they left The London Stadium with all three points.
The victory lifted Arne Slot’s side up to eighth in the Premier League table, with the reigning champions now just four points behind second-placed Manchester City.
Next up for the Reds is a game against Sunderland, before they visit Leeds United on Saturday.
In the meantime, however, it has emerged that the Merseyside outfit have identified a shortlist of four players as possible alternatives to their top transfer target.
As reported by CaughtOffside, Liverpool have drawn up a shortlist of four transfer targets amid concerns that Manchester City may hijack their pursuit of Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo.
The Ghana international has been Liverpool’s top attacking target for the upcoming transfer window for some time now, but it is claimed that City are prepared to trigger the player’s release clause in order to lure him to The Etihad.

With that in mind, those in charge of Liverpool’s recruitment have been forced to identify other possible targets.
Among those now being monitored by Liverpool is Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye, the report claims, who has impressed for the Toffees so far this term.
Former Crystal Palace man Michael Olise – now of Bayern Munich – is also said to be on their list, with the France international having established himself as one of the best attacking players in Europe over the past 12 months.
Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz and Real Madrid star Rodrygo complete Liverpool’s shortlist of attacking targets, with their need for reinforcements stemming from Mohamed Salah’s impending absence for the Africa Cup of Nations early next year.
