3 Players You SHOULD Buy In FPL Gameweek 14, And 3 You NEED To Sell

FPL managers either had a great weekend or a bad weekend, likely based on whether they used their free hit or not.

The majority of ‘chalky’ picks didn’t come back with major returns as Arsenal scored just one against Chelsea, and couldn’t keep a clean sheet and Erling Haaland didn’t score a goal.

Furthermore, popular picks such as Iliman Ndiaye, Antoine Semenyo, and Bukayo Saka, all failed to return with good points. However, for those FPL managers who did free hit, and were able to target Aston Villa, Man City, Brentford and Sunderland’s easy fixtures.

Heading into the midweek fixtures, managers need to ensure they have all their line-up changes sorted by Tuesday night, which is when the deadline comes in. So, with that short turnaround, GoonerNews decided to help FPL managers to make the right changes…Here are three players you should buy and three you should sell…

FPL players to buy: James (Chelsea), Timber (Arsenal), Foden (Man City)

This almost feels like cheating, because all three players are expensive assets, who are highly owned and all play for arguably the three best teams in the Premier League.

However, Reece James has been excellent for Chelsea of late, now is the right time to bring him in, as the Blues have Leeds, Bournemouth and Everton in their next three games. Furthermore, he is only £5.6m, so not too expensive.

You need to have Arsenal defenders for their upcoming fixture run, and with Gabriel and Saliba both injured, Timber is the one to get. The Gunners have Brentford, Aston Villa and Wolves in their next three, and the £6.4m defender is a must have if you can afford him.

Finally, Phil Foden has hit some form, he scored twice for City at the weekend against Leeds, and now has games against Fulham, Sunderland, Palace and West Ham coming up. If you can afford his £8.1m price tag, he’s a great differential in midfield, as he is owned by just 6.6% of FPL managers.

Players to sell: Sarr (Crystal Palace), Caicedo (Chelsea), Senesi (Bournemouth)

Firstly, Sarr suffered an injury during Palace’s defeat to Man United, the £6.7m midfielder has good value, and there are several replacements around a similar price. You could sell Sarr for one of Iliman Ndiaye, Jeremy Doku, or Dominic Szobozslai.

Caicedo was sent off against Arsenal on Sunday, and so will miss at least one game. The midfielder’s recent returns have totalled no points in his last three games, and so it could be time to sell. You could replace him with Dango Ouattara, Yankuba Minteh or Youri Tielemans.

Bournemouth defender Senesi picked up his fifth yellow card; He will miss the Cherries’ next game, and even when he returns, he will play against Chelsea and Man United. Priced at £5m, you could replace him with Maxence Lacroix, Nico O’Reilly, or Malick Thiaw.
