Arsenal pull off twin wonderkid coup with 'new Neymar' to join in 2027 report

Arsenal are continuing to build for the future after completing the signings of Ecuadorian twin wonderkids, according to ESPN.

Mikel Arteta's side look set to steamroll their way to a first Premier League title since 2004 and hold a five-point advantage over closest challengers Manchester City after the first 13 games of the season.

They were somewhat brought back down to earth with a bump at the weekend, having been made to settle for a battling 1-1 draw with 10-man Chelsea, despite Moises Caicedo's clumsy first-half red card at Stamford Bridge.

After strengthening their squad to the tune of around £250million during the summer, the Gunners now appear to be the real deal. However, they are not done there, with two more deals wrapped up as part of their bid to hone the club's next generation.

Arsenal Agree Double Deal For Talents

James Olley, ESPN's Senior Football Writer, has revealed that an agreement has been reached in principle over the signings of highly-rated twins Edwin and Holgar Quintero from Independiente Del Valle.

The duo will officially join Arsenal in August 2027, with their arrivals delayed because FIFA rules prohibit clubs from recruiting foreign players until they have turned 18.

The publication claimed that the youngsters, both aged 16, will be in London this week to sign their contracts. A formal announcement is then expected on an unspecified future date.

At present, the total fee is unknown, but the swoop showcases the club's determination to bring in the best talents worldwide.

Arsenal are thought to have fended off stern competition from several other elite clubs across Europe to sign the twins, who they had reportedly been tracking for over a year.

The reasons why are clear, with Edwin Quintero, a rapid right-winger, reportedly compared with a young Neymar. His sibling, meanwhile, is seen as an attacking midfielder.

Signings Show Arsenal Focused On Future

Arsenal's Piero Hincapie challenges for the ball

This double deal will certainly stir up excitement among Arsenal supporters, and rightly so. After all, Independiente have a proven track record of producing gems good enough to make a name for themselves at the very top.

Just look at Chelsea's Caicedo, arguably now one of the best midfielders in the world, and Piero Hincapie, who joined Arsenal from Bayer Leverkusen during the summer. The defender looks to have already done enough for his loan to become permanent.

Both players spent crucial formative years on the books at the Ecuadorian side.

Add 16-year-old Victor Ozhianvuna, with whom a pre-agreement has already been reached over a move in January 2017, into the mix, and Arsenal are ready to compete for trophies at every level for many years to come.

Arsenal Must Trust Max Dowman

One youngster who may well find himself helping the Quintero twins settle in is Max Dowman, who has already trodden the difficult path between the academy and the first-team.

After flourishing in the youth system, the 15-year-old was handed his Premier League and Champions League debuts earlier this season, and has been tipped to go right to the very top.

Unsurprisingly, Arteta heaped praise on him after a particularly eye-catching cameo against Slavia Prague this month.

Max at 15 takes the ball and straight away starts to take people on and win free-kicks. That shows the personality that these kids have. Really happy to see them with us in this journey, and hopefully they will continue to improve.

The way he plays, he attracts a lot of contact. He's so good at timing the right moment to move the ball when the opponent makes the next step. We have a massive player there.
