The Golden State Warriors have made it official.
A day after the Dubs signaled their intent to sign the brother of the franchise’s four-time NBA champion superstar, Stephen Curry, the franchise followed through and made it happen.
"The Warriors have officially signed Seth Curry," ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel reported Monday.
Many were confused about why Curry wasn’t on the Warriors’ roster after training camp. The Dubs needed to improve their three-point shooting entering the 2025-26 campaign, and signing Curry to a deal on the first day of October was the wisest move the franchise could make.
However, the Dubs didn’t have room to offer Curry a standard contract after training camp, leading them to cut ties with the 35-year-old veteran days before their season-opening contest vs. the Los Angeles Lakers.
The good news was that Golden State didn’t hesitate to make it clear that Curry was part of its future plans, as creating space to bring him back to the Bay was a well-documented priority.
With Curry in the mix moving forward, there’s optimism that the Warriors will transform into one of the better three-point shooting teams in the league.
Curry, a member of the Charlotte Hornets in 2024-25, led the NBA in three-point shooting percentage, connecting on 45.6 percent of his perimeter jump shots in 68 outings with the LaMelo Ball-led organization.
Simply put, the Duke product is among the most prolific sharpshooters the NBA has to offer, which should bode well for a struggling 11-10 Warriors squad.
