The New York Knicks came into this season as one of the favorites to win the Eastern Conference. Right now, they are second in the standings, only trailing Detroit. Right now, they have the fourth-best net rating in the NBA.
Josh Hart has been fantastic for the Knicks in the last few games. His offense has really provided a spark for the team, and he is not known as a scorer in the league. He has scored 61 points in his last three games.
Former New York teammate Immanuel Quickley got a firsthand look at Hart’s scoring recently. Following the game, Quickley took a playful jab at his former teammate.

Former Knicks Player Surprised at Josh Hart’s Scoring
In his postgame interview, Quickley took a subtle, good-natured jab at his former teammate.
“He made some shots tonight. When I was playing with him, he wasn’t making all them shots.”
Quickley said this with a smile on his face, so he was clearly joking. Hart is one of the most beloved teammates on the Knicks’ roster. Even former teammates love him. Quickley also made sure to praise him immediately after that comment.
“Josh’s a good player. He affects the game in other ways. Scoring, rebounding, you’ve got to guard him.”
Quickley was teammates with Hart in parts of two seasons, so he knows what Hart brings to the game. Had Hart been more of a scoring threat when Quickley was on the team, perhaps some of those Knicks teams would have been more successful.
Yet, Hart has done a fantastic job of being able to do whatever is needed from him. He has the highest assist percentage and rebound percentage of his career. Hart has been known as a Swiss-Army knife, and he continues to be that.

The New York Knicks Need to Stay Healthy
Health has been the biggest story in the Eastern Conference this season. The Pacers, Celtics, and 76ers are all injury-ravaged teams. None of them has a shot to win the East because of the injuries they have suffered this year and last season.
New York has to stay healthy if it wants to really have a shot at making the NBA Finals this season. Hart has been a player who has had some injury issues, so keeping him good to go is paramount to the team’s overall success.
The Knicks are one of the best teams in the NBA when they are fully healthy. Adding Mitchell Robinson back to the fold has really helped them. Robinson has the highest offensive rebound percentage of his career, which has resulted in more possessions and more points for the Knicks.
Keeping Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns on the court is the top priority. Quickley got to see that up close in their loss to New York, losing the game by 20+ points. Without the top contenders in the East there to slow the Knicks down, they are going all in this season.
