Even though Sunday didn’t work-out quite the way we wanted, it was still a fabulous week for Arsenal Football Club. There’s no shame in a draw at the end of a glorious week.
Of course, everyone believed the Gunners will be able to capitalize on the Chelsea red card and have enough left in the tank to score at least two goals forthe win. However, that wasn’t the case, despite our near miss in extra time.
After Arsenal’s Mikel Merino headed in the equalizer, it never felt like the Gunners would lose the match, but the determination of Chelsea to play tough on the defensive end and aggressive on the counter punch did not change. We have to give the Blues credit for earning the draw.
So, at the end of the day AFC remains five points clear of Man City at the top of the Premier League table. That’s good enough for now.
As a side note, it was great to see both Martin Odegaard and Viktor Gyokeres on the pitch together again, as well as gaing Gabriel Jesus in uniform on the bench. Also, a hats off to Piero Hincapie and Cristhian Mosquera for their outstanding jobs in central defense.
Next up, Brentford, a club that has always been a pain in Arsenal’s arse.
This season, the Bees stand 10th on the league table with 19 points after 13 matches.
December will be packed with games, eight in all, so getting and keeping players fit is a key element to the club’s success during the holiday season.
Cheers.
