Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Jurgen Klopp’s potential return to Liverpool.
While Arne Slot has brought some positivity to the team with a 2-0 win over West Ham at the weekend, his position appears secure for now.
The Reds ended a three-game losing streak with Sunday’s victory over the Hammers, which also saw Mohamed Salah benched for the first time this Premier League season.
The Egyptian was an unused substitute at the London Stadium as goals from Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo secured all three points for the Premier League champions.
Isak scored his first league goal for Liverpool since his record £125million move from Newcastle, having failed to find the net in his first five top-flight appearances.
Liverpool are not expected to make any immediate decisions regarding Slot, who replaced Klopp last year.
Klopp began his new role at Red Bull in January, six months after leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 season.
During his nine years at Anfield, the German won eight trophies, including the Premier League and the Champions League.
Romano confirmed that there are no conversations or talks regarding Klopp’s return to Liverpool at this time.
The transfer expert said on his YouTube channel: “I’m not aware of Liverpool having any sort of contact with Jurgen Klopp.
“The situation of Arne Slot, we know, they need to fix this situation. They won the last game against West Ham.
“So Liverpool are trying to get out of the negative moment, but all the rumours about Jurgen Klopp, guys, at this stage, the message coming is quite clear.
“No conversations, no talks over Jurgen Klopp’s return at Liverpool.
“Klopp is fully focused on the project in the Red Bull group is having, and so that’s the story as of today, nothing into it, everything is really quiet between Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp.
