Jalen Brunson had a great week.
The New York Knicks went undefeated last week. Two of their four wins came against struggling teams, but they proved their dominance with consecutive home victories over two solid opponents. Leading the charge for the Knicks was Jalen Brunson.
In the four games last week, Brunson averaged 28.8 points per game and 4.5 assists, all while shooting over 40% from beyond the arc. His performance the past week earned him the NBA’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week award.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Dončić and New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson have been named the NBA Western and Eastern Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for Week 6 of the 2025-26 season (Nov. 24-30).
Brunson and the Knicks have another four-game week, beginning on Tuesday against the Boston Celtics.
Jalen Brunson’s Season Thus Far

Brunson is enjoying one of the best shooting seasons of his career. The 29-year-old is averaging 28.5 points per game, while shooting 47.8% from the field and 37.0% from three-point range. Before this season, the most points he has averaged is 28.7 two seasons ago. Looking at only the percentages, Brunson was a better shooter last year. But he has been hot lately, and those numbers are only going to go up if he keeps up his play on the court.
Brunson did have an injury scare, but he is back and looks as if nothing even happened. In his six games since returning, the Villanova product has averaged 29.3 points and 5.7 assists per game. Additionally, he is shooting just under 50% from the field, while knocking down 37.2% of his shots from deep.
On a deeper level, the 6-foot-2 guard is second on the Knicks in offensive rating, third in net rating, first in assist percentage, and first in usage percentage. New York feeds off his success, and their four-game winning streak is proof of that.
Brunson has been instrumental to New York’s success this season, and last week was no different. The Knicks are better on both ends of the court when Brunson is active and in the lineup.

New York is 13-6 and in second place in the Eastern Conference. Another positive note on their season is the NBA Cup. New York advanced out of the group stage, and they will play the Toronto Raptors on December 9 in the quarterfinals.
Before that, the Knicks will play four games this week. As mentioned, New York will travel to Boston on Tuesday night, but they come back home for three games to finish the week. Those will be played against the Charlotte Hornets, Utah Jazz, and Orlando Magic; all winnable games.
Not including the NBA Cup, the end of the month is not as easy for New York. Six of their final seven games of December are against teams with winning records. Four of those seven matchups will be away from Madison Square Garden.
The end of the month will test just how good the Knicks are. However, if Brunson continues to dominate the way he has been recently, New York will prove themselves to be a real contender in the Eastern Conference.
