Help has arrived for the struggling 11-10 Golden State Warriors.
The Dubs haven’t been the elite three-point squad fans are accustomed to seeing, shooting under 37% from three as a team this season.
However, signing Seth Curry (Stephen Curry’s brother) on Monday should result in a noticeable improvement in the perimeter shooting department.
Curry, who isn’t a stranger to shooting above 40% from three on multiple occasions, is the perfect long-range heavy veteran to bring off the bench in the Bay.
The former Charlotte Hornets shooting guard participated in training camp with the Warriors but didn't remain with the team for financial reasons.
Now that Golden State's situation has improved, Curry can assist the franchise for the remainder of the season.
While speaking to reporters following his reunion, Curry sent a three-word message to his new NBA team.
“It feels good,” Curry said in response to a question about his feelings regarding joining the seven-time champions.
“It was a weird little break for me. First time in a long time watching NBA basketball and not being a part of it. Good to be back in the gym, be around the guys, and get the blood flowing again in practice.”
According to the San Francisco Chronicle's Sam Gordon, Curry will be active for the Warriors on Tuesday night vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Without Steph, it’ll be a tough task for the Dubs to take down the 20-1 defending champions.
Still, it will be a great opportunity for the Warriors and their fanbase to examine the four-time NBA champion’s younger brother’s fit with the franchise.
If Curry impresses, it’ll be the first step toward a successful stint with Golden State.
