Devin Booker departs with apparent groin injury

After a hot start to the season for Devin Booker, his shooting cooled off in November. He hit 43.2% from deep in October, then slipped to 24.4% in November.

As the calendar flipped to December, Booker looked ready to climb out of it. The early signs against the Los Angeles Lakers were strong. In 9:55 of first quarter play, Booker went 4-of-7 from the field and 1-of-2 from deep. He knocked down the only two free throws of the half for the team, added three assists, grabbed two boards, and finished the quarter with 11 points.

He didn’t return after that run. Early reports say Booker is dealing with a groin injury.

This isn’t new. Last season, he missed five December games with a groin issue. In December 2022, he dealt with a groin injury that sidelined him for 20 games.

For a team already stacking injuries, it hits hard. The Suns are in the middle of their toughest stretch of the schedule, and they need every healthy body to stay afloat. More to come as information rolls in.
