Virgil van Dijk has been very vocal so far this season, whether that be if Liverpool win or lose.
The Reds got back to winning ways against West Ham and the result was very much needed, with this easing the pressure on everyone at the club.
Arne Slot will certainly feel a weight off his shoulders too, but he is not out of the woods just yet as there is a long season still ahead.

Van Dijk knows that too as the captain is always someone who never gets too ahead of themselves, with the Dutchman truly leading by example.
His message after the West Ham win is also something all the players need to listen to, and perhaps even the fans as well.

Football can be so unpredictable at times, but that is why fans love it, and the Premier League is certainly one of the hardest divisions to call.
This is proven by how Liverpool have started the season in comparison with the last, showing how anyone is capable of beating anyone on their day.

That is why when supporters keep looking at the table with a bit of fear, there is really no need to, with there still being plenty of time for this to change, and it already has done.
For example, Liverpool were five points clear at the top at one stage this season, but found themselves in the bottom half before this gameweek.
Now, they are eighth, just three points off Chelsea in third, showing how competitive the league is this year and why van Dijk has urged everyone not to look at the table.

“There’s no point for us to look at any table, we didn’t do it last year and we shouldn’t do it now either,” he said as per the Liverpool Echo.
“The only thing we should look at is trying to find consistency in the way we play, defend and attack. It was a good win and now we move on.”
Liverpool’s title defence is still on
It might feel like a long shot, especially because of how poor and inconsistent they have been thus far, but Liverpool are still in with a shout of winning the league.
If they put a good run together, there are so many games left that they can storm up the table, with the gap between them and Arsenal being only nine points.
The festive period also seems a jam-packed schedule that could catch a few teams out due to how chaotic it is, something the Reds really can capitalise on.
Of course, it is a big ask and they would need factors outside of their control to go their way, but stranger things have happened, so Liverpool should just quietly keep plodding away.
