Dominik Szoboszlai has proven to be one of Liverpool’s most multi-faceted players so far this season.
The Reds have had such a poor start to the season that Arne Slot has been under immense pressure to make changes, and he did just that against West Ham.
One of the boldest choices he made was to bench Mohamed Salah, with the Dutchman playing Dominik Szoboszlai on the right instead.

It may not seem like-for-like, but the Hungarian did a very good job, with his link-up play with Florian Wirtz something that could be exciting going forward.
Whether he uses him there again is not yet known, but Szoboszlai has already proven that he is more than capable of becoming the heir to Salah’s throne.

Dominik Szoboszlai has an impressive record off the right
Szoboszlai really is a manager’s dream, as wherever he is asked to play, he does it with little fuss but with maximum effort.
He also always puts in a good performance and is one of the most reliable players in the side, which is why he consistently starts and finishes every game.

He has also shown that if needed on the right, he can play there with ease, with his record during his career, but mainly at RB Leipzig, proving just that.
Szoboszlai has played 41 games from either a right wing or right midfield position, scoring 13 and assisting 16, as per transfermarkt.
He may not have added to this tally against West Ham, but his performance was just as impressive as it has been in previous weeks, suggesting he can play there again.
Is this the beginning of the end for Salah?
Mohamed Salah looks dejected during Liverpool's UEFA Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven at Anfield.

7 assists
Mohamed Salah after 13 Premier League games 25/26:

This, of course, depends heavily on the future of Salah, but if this is the beginning of the end for the Egyptian, then Liverpool might have a replacement ready to go.
Dominik Szoboszlai is on course to be Liverpool’s Player of the Season
Winning Player of the Season at Liverpool really is an impressive feat usually, although this year it might be a little easier to win than most.
That does not mean anything should be taken away from Szoboszlai, though, as despite most of his teammates dropping their standards, he has upped his enormously.
He would walk into almost any team in the Premier League right now, and without him, it really would leave many wondering where Liverpool would be.
He can play anywhere and he is influential wherever he is asked to play, with this a trait that is very rare and why they must do all they can to keep him long term.
