The Washington Wizards are one of the worst teams today in the NBA, but they did not look the part on Monday, as theystunned the Milwaukee Bucks at Capital One Arena in Washington. Behind the big performances of CJ McCollum and Marvin Bagley, the Wizards outlasted the Bucks to the tune of a 129-126 score.
But it was ex-Bucks star forward Khris Middleton who may have drained the biggest bucket in the contest.
Ex-Bucks star Middleton drains dagger shot in Wizards win

With the Bucks ahead by just a point and with under a minute left in the fourth quarter, McCollum tried to attack Milwaukee’s interior defense, but the door was shut on him by Ryan Rollins. McCollum retreated and nearly lost possession of the ball before passing it to Middleton, who moved behind the arc and went up for a shot that gave the Wizards a two-point lead. That ultimately became the game-winning bucket for Washington, which won for just the third time in the 2025-26 NBA season.

Washington’s win also avenged its 133-120 loss to the Bucks in theseason-opener on Oct. 22 at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
Middleton, who played for 11-plus seasons with Milwaukee, finished with 15 points, including eight in the fourth quarter. McCollum and Bagley had 28 and 22 points, respectively.
As for Milwaukee, Kevin Porter Jr. dropped 30 points in a losing effort while Giannis Antetokounmpo provided his team with 26 points.
Milwaukee, now with a 9-13 record, hopes to turn things around this Wednesday, but that will be easier said than done with the Detroit Pistons coming to town.
