Chelsea drew 1-1 with Arsenal on Sunday, not the win they wanted but a great effort considering they played the second half with ten men after Moises Caicedo’s red card.
Reece James has had a lot of praise for his excellent performance, and Trevoh Chalobah got the goal. But one person who needs more praise is goalkeeper Robert Sanchez. The much maligned Spaniard made some crucial saves to keep Arsenal to just one goal.
Interviewed after the game, striker Joao Pedro made sure to mention the stopper as someone who contributed.

“I think we played a great game. If you watch the first 30 minutes, with eleven players, we dominated the game and they didn’t create [any chances],” Joao Pedro said of the game, before picking out his goalkeeper for particular praise.
“Rob [Sanchez] always tries to save us and today he was brilliant again,’ said our Brazilian forward. ‘He was very important for us, but the whole team had a very good performance.
“It was a great week but we have to continue because the competitions don’t stop here,’ said Joao Pedro. They continue, so have to continue like this too.”

JP also spoke a bit about the team’s performance in general and made it pretty clear that they were offended by the fact that Arsenal were considered favourites on Friday when the two teams faced off.
Trevoh Chalobah was immense for Chelsea at the back in the draw, and his stats from the game show just how good he was, keeping a physical Arsenal team at bay even with his team down to ten men.
