In a conversation with The Times, Barcelona are keen on securing Marcus Rashford’s services permanently, and their sporting director Deco has now revealed that the player is happy at the Spanish club.
“He’s happy with us,” Deco said. “Marcus is a fantastic player. He faced the responsibility of becoming an important player at Man United — United, like us, are one of the biggest clubs in the world — too young. He suffered a bit with this change of generation at United too. If you see United in the last five years, they had difficulties rebuilding the team, to become stronger again. He was there. So it’s not easy for a player [from whom] people demand a lot. When you are an important player, you have a lot of responsibility.
“We were looking for a player like him on the market. A player that could play in the three positions up front. We were able to sign Marcus on loan now because of his desire to play for Barcelona. He waited a lot. He knew that we were dealing with financial rules. But he was patient. He waited and we’re happy to have him.”
It will be interesting to see if Barcelona can negotiate a deal to sign him permanently. Manchester United will hope to get rid of the player soon. He is not a key part of their plans, and they do not want to keep him at the club.
Rashford is a fantastic player who has settled in well at Barcelona. The reigning La Liga champions were looking for a versatile attacker like him, and they are happy with his performances so far.
There is an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season, and it is fair to assume that Barcelona will take up the opportunity to get the deal done. They need more quality and depth in the attacking unit. Signing the versatile England international would be ideal for them. He is likely to be available for a knockdown fee.
Staying at Barcelona would be ideal for Rashford

Barcelona certainly have a more stable project compared to Manchester United, and they have recently won the league title.

In addition, they are not even in the Champions League this season. Returning to Old Trafford will not be on the agenda for Rashford.
