**The January transfer window is edging closer and a positive update has emerged regarding Liverpool’s potential business during it.**
Sunday’s 2-0 win away to West Ham was a positive for the Reds, bringing an end to a dire run of form that has seen Slot under pressure to keep his job.

**Should Liverpool wait for Guehi until the summer?**

This will be music to the ears of Liverpool supporters, who will always be hungry to see as many new signings brought in as possible.
A new central defender does feel important, considering Giovanni Leoni is out for the season, and an injury to Virgil van Dijk would be a disaster, given the lack of options.
That said, if Guehi is still only available in the summer, it may be worth taking the risk and waiting until then, rather than bringing in a lesser addition in January.
That would clearly be a gamble, so there is some sense in making a move for someone else midway through the season, but if that happens, it has to be a genuine and long-term target, rather than a panic buy.
Similarly, if a wide attacker is looked at, the player in question must be viewed as a future replacement for Salah, not a mid-season punt.
