Arsenal are set to be without William Saliba against Brentford

Saliba was left out of the Arsenal squad for their trip to Chelsea on Sunday after picking up a knock in training the day before.

Arteta said after the 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge that Saliba was due to have a test on Monday to learn the extent of his injury.

Arsenal are next in action on Wednesday night, when they host Brentford, and Arteta has given an update on Saliba.

Speaking on Tuesday morning, he said: “I am not going to be able to help you much today. We have another training session later today.

“He had a little niggle. I think it is going to be a matter of days.”

Arsenal were also without Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard for their draw with Chelsea due to injury.

Havertz has not played since the very first game of the season after injuring his knee and undergoing surgery.

Trossard picked up a calf injury against Bayern Munich last week, when he had to subbed in the first half.
