Liverpool welcome Sunderland to Anfield on Wednesday evening as the Reds look to build on their victory over West Ham at the weekend.
The Black Cats make the trip to Merseyside in fine form, currently sitting sixth in the Premier League table with 22 points from 13 games. Régis Le Bris’s side have been the standout promoted team this season.
Arne Slot continues to be without both of his specialist right-backs heading into the Sunderland clash.
Conor Bradley has not featured since the 3-0 defeat at Manchester City on November 9.
The Northern Ireland international subsequently sustained a muscle injury during the first half of his country’s World Cup qualifying victory over Luxembourg.
Slot previously stated he does not expect Bradley “to be part of the upcoming 22 days” and that only a “miracle” would see him return sooner.
Jeremie Frimpong was forced off during the early stages of Liverpool’s Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt in late October with a hamstring injury – his second of the campaign.
The summer signing from Bayer Leverkusen has been pictured back in training and is reportedly hoping to return in around a fortnight, putting him on a similar timeline to Bradley.
Frimpong has managed just nine appearances this season, including only one Premier League start, as fitness issues have hampered his adaptation to life at Anfield.
Now speaking in his pre-Sunderland press conference, Arne Slot said:
“Conor got into a training session yesterday for the first time, team training. Not everything 100% so we have to manage everything still, so don’t get your hopes up to soon.”
“The good thing is that he does certain parts with the group already. We expect the same for Jeremie next week [to return to team training].”
“So, the two of them come back, but unfortunately, we play a lot of games in the upcoming weeks.”
“Jeremie will miss at least another three games.”
“I hope Conor will be available for Leeds.”
