FPL injury news: Gabriel, Saliba, Cunha, Gibbs-White, Sarr latest for GW14

FPL managers have had a quick turnaround between GW13 and GW14, with the latest round of Premier League matches due to get underway this evening. And bosses will be sweating on the fitness of a number of key players.

GW14 begins as Bournemouth take on Everton, while Manchester City travel to Fulham. Premier League leaders Arsenal host Brentford on Wednesday, with Chelsea and Liverpool also in action on the same night. Manchester United then welcome West Ham to Old Trafford on Thursday. And Express Sport brings you the latest FPL injury news.

Gabriel Magalhaes

Gabriel was forced off with an adductor injury during Brazil’s friendly against Senegal in the November international break. He has missed Arsenal’s last three matches and won’t be available for the visit of Brentford, with Gunners boss Mikel Arteta confirming ahead of the match: “He's doing very well, but that's weeks as well.”

William Saliba

Arteta was more optimistic when he spoke about Gabriel’s centre-back partner William Saliba, who missed his side’s 1-1 with Chelsea on Sunday after picking up a knock in training on Saturday.

The Frenchman underwent a test on Monday, with Arteta explaining: “This one as well very bizarre, but hopefully it will be a matter of days. I am not going to be able to help you much today as we have another training session.”

Matheus Cunha

Matheus Cunha has missed Manchester United’s last two matches after suffering an injury in training last month.

But the Brazil forward revealed in a social media post that he is fit once again and will be in contention to feature against West Ham. The player posted a training snap to Instagram and captioned it: “Back, back, back.”

Morgan Gibbs-White

Morgan Gibbs-White was forced off during the closing stages of Nottingham Forest’s defeat to Brighton at the weekend.

But Forest boss Sean Dyche is confident the attacker will be back on the pitch to face his former club Wolves on Wednesday.

“He came off with a knock, so we are expecting him to be okay,” Dyche stated ahead of the trip to Molineux. “He’s had it checked out today and he feels a bit better, so hopefully he will be ready for selection.”

Ismaila Sarr

Crystal Palace star Ismaila Sarr will not be as fortunate as Gibbs-White after he, too, was taken off at the weekend with an injury problem. The attacker lasted just 37 minutes against Manchester United before being withdrawn due to an ankle injury sustained following a challenge from Diogo Dalot.

And after the match, Eagles boss Oliver Glasner explained: “We all have to assess him further but the ankle is quite swollen, so I think he will miss a few games.” Glasner then revealed that Sarr may not play again before the Africa Cup of Nations, which gets underway just before Christmas.
