Arsenal and Liverpool were among the clubs linked with Real Madrid star Rodrygo over the summer but a lot has changed for all parties in the last several months

Real Madrid are open to letting Rodrygo leave after previous interest from Arsenal and Liverpool,. it has been claimed. However, the last few months may well make the Premier League pair less keen on a deal.
Neither Arsenal nor Liverpool were willing to part with £77million to land the Brazilian over the summer, instead pursuing different targets. Noni Madueke, Viktor Gyokeres and Ebere Eze have settled in at the Emirates Stadium, giving Arsenal less reason to call for a renewed swoop, while Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak all joined Liverpool at a combined cost of around £300m.
According to The Athletic, Rodrygo is one of several Madrid stars available in January. Endrick's loan move to Lyon appears to be all but done, while Dani Ceballos, Fran Garcia and Gonzalo Garcia could also leave either permanently or on loan.
There is also a concern over Rodrygo's form, though. He has now gone 30 games without scoring, matching an unwanted Real Madrid record set by Mariano - though Dominican international Mariano played fewer minutes during his barren run.
The last 15 games of Rodrygo's run have come this season, with Xabi Alonso largely using him as a substitute, and he only has two assists this term. His last club goal of any kind came back in early March under Carlo Ancelotti, when he netted against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
It is nearly a full year since the 24-year-old scored in La Liga. He grabbed a goal and two assists in a victory over Las Palmas back in January, a contribution which offered few clues about what might follow.
Rodrygo has remained part of Brazil's plans despite his difficult club run. Former Real Madrid boss Ancelotti is now in charge of the Selecao and handed the forward starts in the October and November international breaks - with a brace against South Korea in October representing Rodrygo's only goals this season.

Arsenal look to have been doing just fine without Rodrygo, with their return of 25 Premier League goals second only to Manchester City after 13 matches. They could have more attacking firepower very soon, too, with Gabriel Jesus returning to the bench at Chelsea after 10 months out injured and Kai Havertz expected back in a matter of weeks.
"He was doing everything, he could not go to the next level. We are all desperate to have him," Arteta said when asked about Germany star Havertz ahead of Wednesday's match against Brentford.
"He's a player that personally I love so much for what he brings to the team but also his character, his personality. I see him suffer being out. I can’t wait to have him back around the team playing. I think it's going to be a massive boost for the team."
