Move over, Boston. The Mile High City now owns the greatest single-month performance by three major professional sports teams in North America’s history.
The Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche won or earned a point in 28 of 31 combined games during November, good for a 90.3% success rate, according to research by Jake Coyne on Twitter. That mark edges out the previous record held by Boston’s trio of the Patriots, Celtics and Bruins, who went 18-of-20 (90.0%) in October 2019.
The stat required a minimum of two games played by each team during the month.
In the month of November, the Broncos, Nuggets & Avalanche won or earned a point (NHL) in 28 of their 31 combined games.
That’s the best combined percentage by an NFL, an NBA and an NHL team from a metropolitan area in a month in the history of those leagues (min. 2 GP each). pic.twitter.com/9BijfJcEaw

Each of Denver’s three franchises that played carried its weight in the historic run.
The Broncos ended November riding a nine-game win streak and continued their surge behind quarterback Bo Nix’s clutch play and a defense that has been dominant, pushing them to the top spot in the AFC. Since this is about Denver, it’s worth pointing out that the Orange and Blue haven’t lost in Colorado this season. The 67 points the defense allowed during November were the fewest by 10 across the NFL.
On the hardwood, the Nuggets have continued their run as one of the best teams in the NBA behind the transcendent Nikola Jokic, who is expected to be named the league’s top player of the month. He averaged a proposturus 32 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 11 assists per game on 76% True Shooting during the month. Jamal Murray also had one of the best months of his career. It was one of just five times he’s scored 300 points, tossed 90 or more assists and shot 40% or better from deep over a 13-game span.
The Avalanche are somehow the best team in the bunch. At one point, they rattled off ten consecutive wins and recorded three straight shutouts in there, too. Nathan MacKinnon and company pace the NHL with 42 points in the standings, with just one regulation loss all season. MacK leads the league in scoring, notching seven more points than the next best guy.
At one point in mid-November, the Avalanche, Nuggets and Broncos strung together 21 consecutive victories across all three franchises, a stretch that captured national attention and prompted Colorado Gov. Jared Polis to declare that “no other state can boast Colorado’s records.”
For Denver fans, November 2025 will be remembered as the month their city stood alone atop the American sports landscape. The only team not invited to the party? The Colorado Rockies, who finished their season earlier this fall with one of the worst records in baseball history. Perhaps they were a sacrificial lamb.
Now it’s hard to claim best month ever without even winning a title this month, as many will point to this June and say hopefully two teams will be doing parades downtown in the afterglow of a Broncos championship, as that would be unbeatable. But for now, by win percentage, November in the Mile High City was nearly perfect, and it was the best.
