Harry Redknapp has lavished praise on a pair of Liverpool stars following their Premier League victory over West Ham. The Reds clinched a 2-0 win at the London Stadium on Sunday, putting an end to their recent run of losses.
Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo were the goal scorers, securing all three points for Liverpool in the capital over the weekend.
Before their triumph over the Hammers, the Reds had endured three straight defeats across all competitions, each by a three-goal margin, conceding ten goals in the process. Liverpool have now climbed to eighth in the Premier League table, just three points adrift of the top four.
Next up for Arne Slot's squad is a return to Anfield where they'll face Sunderland on Wednesday evening in the top flight.
Redknapp singled out Joe Gomez for his performance in Liverpool's win over West Ham. Gomez made a much-anticipated return from injury to play at right-back for the Reds, marking his first league start this season and only his fifth appearance in all competitions.
"Fair play to Joe Gomez, he came in from out the cold and had an excellent game at West Ham," Redknapp shared with football betting site BetVictor.
"He really shored up that backline but chipped in with an assist too. I'd be surprised if he's not involved a lot more moving forward."
Gakpo also earned praise from Redknapp, with the former Premier League manager explaining why the Netherlands international outshines his colleagues.

"Cody Gakpo had a good game for Liverpool in that win at West Ham," Redknapp said.
"He's clearly a lad that Slot trusts a lot, and you can see why, he delivered for him here with a goal and an assist in what was such a vital game. It's important they build on this moving forward."
It remains to be seen what team Slot will plan to name for Liverpool's clash with Sunderland in midweek, and whether or not Gakpo and Gomez will earn spots in the starting line-up at Anfield.
Prior to defeating West Ham, Liverpool had suffered nine defeats from their previous 12 fixtures across all competitions, including six losses from their last seven Premier League outings. Slot and his squad will be eager to ensure the triumph over the Hammers marks the beginning of a winning streak that encompasses a midweek round of top-flight matches.
