Everton wonderkid Tyler Dibling saw his salary skyrocket after his move from Southampton, it can be revealed.
The talented 19-year-old signed a four-year contract until June 2029, describing the club as a "perfect match". However, he has played just 72 minutes in the Premier League this season, and all five of his appearances have been from the bench.
In contrast, he played 33 top-flight matches for the Saints last campaign and stood head and shoulders above many of his team-mates despite their eventual relegation to the Championship.
David Moyes believes he has been unable to break into his starting XI because of Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye's form, but the financial package tabled during the summer seemingly represents the club's faith in his ability.
Here, GIVEMESPORT takes a look at exactly how much his earnings have increased.
Dibling's Meagre Southampton Wage
Tyler Dibling
Dibling joined Southampton in 2012, aged six, before signing his first professional contract in 2021. Quickly, he rose through the ranks in the academy and, after a brief spell at Chelsea, was promoted to the first-team set-up at St Mary's.
The teenager went on to make 44 appearances in total last season, scoring four goals. He predominantly dazzled off the right-hand side, often cutting in on to his left boot to devastating effect, and also stepped in as an attacking midfielder.
His impact during the first half of his debut campaign in the Premier League unsurprisingly saw him linked with £100m moves to the top-flight's Big Six, but, still young and raw, he suffered a drop-off in form.
According to website Capology.com, Dibling earned £5,000 a week at Southampton, amounting to £260,000 gross per year. This represented a reasonable wage for an academy product, especially one of his tender age.
But after securing his high-profile move to Merseyside, everything would change.
Huge Everton Pay Rise For Dibling
Everton forward Tyler Dibling warms up
Everton are believed to have snapped up Dibling because of his seemingly limitless potential. Despite his difficulties this season, he remains a mercurial prodigy, and his very high ceiling may yet take him to the top of the game.
The club were able to sign him for much less than initially expected because of his slump, but they offered him a wage to place him on a level par with a host of other big earners in the Premier League.
Capology have claimed that Dibling now earns £50,000 a week, a whopping £45,000 increase from his days at the Saints. The overall package is made up of a £40k base and a £10k bonus, although the exact nature of these clauses is not known.
Over the course of a year, that represents a £2.6million base salary, consisting of £520,000 in bonuses and a £2.08m base.
Having been handed a truly life-changing salary, Dibling will now hope he is given increased game time to boot.
