He was surprised to be traded one year after he signed with the Celtics when Boston acquired Kristaps Porzingis from Washington. Well, Gallinari on Tuesday announced his retirement from basketball — he hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2023-24 campaign when he suited up for the Wizards, Pistons and Bucks. The Celtics posted to social media following Gallinari’s retirement announcement. “Congrats Gallo on a great career and best of luck in your retirement,” the team account wrote.
