Report: How Saudi clubs are feeling about potential Mohamed Salah move amid Egyptian’s downturn in form

Mohamed Salah was previously the subject of interest from teams in Saudi Arabia.

The Reds have not had the best start to the season and many players have disappointed, but none more so than Salah.

The Egyptian has not looked like himself and has just four Premier League goals to his name, a lot less than he usually has at this point in the season.

He was even dropped by Arne Slot for their game against West Ham, leaving many to wonder what his future entails, with there being a strong chance he could move on fairly soon.

Clubs from Saudi Arabia were previously interested and many would expect him to go there if he were to leave, with their stance now revealed amid his poor run of form.

Salah has been one of, if not the most, integral Liverpool player for the last several years, making the Egyptian priceless.

In fact, the Reds even rejected a £150m offer for the winger back on deadline day in 2023, showing just how important he is to them.

Ever since, though, their interest has remained and they have always been lurking in the shadows, with this summer looking like it will be no different.

According to talkSPORT, Salah remains firmly on the radar of Saudi Pro League clubs even though he has struggled for form this season.

Al Hilal are believed to be the leading candidates in the race for his signature, but Al-Qadsiah have also expressed interest.

Based on his form and how times are changing at Liverpool, they might not be opposed to letting him go, although as he will have a year left on his deal by the summer, they will still want a decent bit of compensation.

Liverpool should cash in on Mohamed Salah

How much would you want Liverpool to sell Mohamed Salah for?

Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus (£99.2m)

Harry Kane to Bayern Munich (£86.4m plus add-ons)

Neymar to Al-Hilal (£77.6m plus add-ons)

Casemiro to Manchester United (£60m plus add-ons)

Just before he signed his new two-year deal towards the end of last season, Liverpool fans were begging him to stay, so saying to sell him a year on may seem harsh.

But unfortunately, it looks like it might be the end of an era as he looks way off the levels needed, and he is not getting any younger either.

The players around him are ones for the future too so it looks like the baton is being passed on, suggesting that if a big offer arrives, then they have to take it.

How much that will be is as good a guess as any, especially as they will likely be willing to overpay for him given their track record, indicating that it will be a good move for all parties involved, but mainly the Reds.
