Knicks vs. Celtics: The matchup
While the Knicks are 10-1 at home this season, they are finally showing an ability to win on the road after losing four straight away contests to open the season. New York is now 3-1 in its past four road games and enters Tuesday’s matchup on a four-game win streak to jump back into the top spot in the East’s Atlantic Division, ahead of the Toronto Raptors by percentage points and 2.5 games ahead of the Celtics. The Knicks won the matchup with Toronto head-to-head their last time out, taking a 116-94 victory on Sunday behind six players in double figures and a massive rebounding edge (61-40).

The Celtics are 6-2 over their past eight games since opening the season with just five wins in their first 12, all while playing without superstar forward Jayson Tatum as he continues to recover from offseason Achilles surgery. Last time out, Boston scored a statement win over the Cleveland Cavaliers (117-115) and got 42 big points from guard Payton Pritchard, who hit 15-of-22 shots and 6-of-11 from 3-point range to help bury the Cavs. Jaylen Brown was cold from the floor (3-of-13) but logged a triple-double with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists in 38 minutes.
