Fulham almost pulled off one of the greatest escapes in Premier League history, coming from 5-1 down to Manchester City to fall just short in a 5-4 defeat.
In a thrilling finish at Craven Cottage, the comeback went down to the wire with Josko Gvardiol making a huge late clearance off the line to deny Josh King deep into eight minutes of stoppage time as Fulham pushed for a TENTH goal of a Premier League classic.
The first of those 10 goals was a moment of Premier League history; Erling Haaland brought up his century of Premier League in record time to open the scoring.
100 goals in 111 games!
Funnily enough, it ended a three-game drought for the Norwegian striker – but he’s still scored 15 goals in 14 Premier League games this term.
“I think if you’re sitting at home now you enjoyed that game. It was a crazy game, nine goals is a lot. In the end, we win and we’re happy but it’s not the best win,” Haaland said on Sky Sports.
On his record, he added: “It’s huge and I’m really proud. Of course it’s a massive thing, 100 club is a nice thing to be in and I’m happy.
“I knew about it, that’s what I tried to do. I try to help the team scoring goals, that’s my job.
“Every game is a different game, you can’t think of the game that’s been you need to focus on what’s ahead. The reality is we lost against Newcastle and Leverkusen but now we have two in a row and we have to keep going. It’s a tough schedule. Many games now in the next month. Game by game and recover for the next one.”
ERLING HAALAND JOINS THE 100 CLUB 💯
The Norwegian becomes the fastest player to reach 100 Premier League goals, needing only 111 appearances.

In-form City playmaker Phil Foden bagged another brace to continue his fine form, but Fulham substitute Samuel Chukwueze scored a double of his own to turn the second-half into a thrilling spectacle.
Haaland set up Tijjani Reijnders to make it 2-0, before Foden continued his scoring streak. Emile Smith Rowe breathed life into the contest for Fulham to make it 3-1. Foden’s fourth came just after half-time, also teed up by Haaland, and then Jeremy Doku thought he’d put the game to bed.
Fulham had other ideas, exposing a fragility in City following Leeds’ comeback from two-goals down on the weekend as well (City edged that one 3-2).
Alex Iwobi fginished brilliantly from outside the box before Chukwueze ignited hopes of a comeback.
Despite the goodwill from this performance, the reality is Fulham are just six points above the drop zone.
The win moves City back into second place, two points behind Arsenal.
More to come…
